"Flashes Of Hope" offers hope to those who need it.
ASMP photographers across the country have been generous with their time and talents in many ways toward worthy causes, including pro bono photo shoots. One such worthy cause is Flashes of Hope, a national nonprofit organization that changes the way children with cancer see themselves through the gift of photography, and at the same time, raises money for pediatric cancer research.
The portraits, taken by professional photographers, help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it.
Natalie Kontur, Flashes of Hope image director, has scheduled photo shoots for June 12, July 18 and August 7, at the Hole in the Wall Gang camp right here in northeastern Connecticut.
It's a wonderful opportunity for our membership to do what they do best, capture images of life as it is. Shoots generally begin around 9:30, after the campers are done with breakfast. Set up time is preferably between 8:30-9:00.
Please email Natalie to let her know any dates that you are interested in to volunteer your services.
Flashes of Hope operates chapters in 50 cities across the country, holding photo shoots at both hospitals and summer camps. This year alone, Flashes of Hope will provide free portrait packages to 6,000 of the 12,000 children diagnosed with cancer in the United States.
